The second phase of the Connecting Diaspora for Development project (CD4D2) ended on the 30th of June 2023. The CD4D team looks back on four inspiring years of diaspora engagement. 

The CD4D project witnessed both opportunities and challenges during its implementation period, which resulted in inspiring stories about the personal and professional achievements of diaspora experts. The CD4D2 team collected these stories in a booklet.

Besides storytelling, the mid-term evaluation report from the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance that was recently published on our website also captures four years of diaspora engagement. The report provides information about the motivation of experts to participate in the project, how they managed to transfer knowledge to host institutions effectively, and how the host institutions experienced collaboration with the diaspora.

The final evaluation report is expected in September of this year and reflects on the long-term effects of diaspora engagement facilitated by IOM the Netherlands. Keep an eye on the website for updates! 

Together with the CD4D Ambassadors we reflected on the ‘Diaspora Making the Difference’ campaign. Clement Adu Twum says “I have received a lot of positive feedback on my role as an ambassador.
