No, warming will not cause losses in future agricultural yields
|
Ross McKitrick has a new paper out in the journal Nature Scientific Reports in which he re-examines some empirical work regarding agricultural yield changes under CO2-induced climate warming. "An influential 2017 study had argued that warming would cause large losses in agricultural outputs on a global scale, and this played a large role in an upward revision to the Biden Administration’s Social Cost of Carbon (SCC) estimate, which drives regulatory decision in US climate rulemaking. I show that a lot of data had been left out of the statistical modeling, and once it is included there was no evidence of yield losses even out to 5 C warming."
McKitrick adds: "It is all but certain that no one checked any underlying data or undertook any replication work. And I know from experience in the IPCC and other bureaucratic processes that review comments going against a chapter author’s biases are ignored or argued away, while comments confirming an author’s biases are welcomed at face value."

MCC Brussels exposes extent of EU propaganda
|
Following a new report about the scale of EU funding for propaganda, including climate issues, think tank MCC Brussels calls for the establishment of an 'EU DOGE'. Read their full report here.
From the MCC Brussels Press Release: "A bombshell report reveals the European Commission’s brazen misuse of taxpayer funds, funnelling billions into a shadowy network of NGOs to promote its own political agenda and silence dissenting voices. This enormous EU-NGO propaganda complex undermines democracy and constitutes a massive betrayal of European citizens."

Join our Clintel Telegram Channel! |
Over the years, many of you have been in touch with Eduard Harinck. Eduard played a key communication role inside the Clintel community. When someone had written an interesting article, he sent it to Eduard who then forwarded it to other experts around the world. With Eduard’s passing in December, the Clintel community therefore suffered a great loss.
How to fill this gap? It’s close to impossible to find a substituent for Eduard, who sometimes sent dozens of emails per day. Luckily, nowadays, there are technical solutions for the extensive work that Eduard did. Maybe you have heard about Telegram. Telegram is a cloud-based messaging app. We have set up a Clintel Telegram discussion channel, which you could compare with a WhatsApp group, in which interesting news items and articles can be shared with each other.
Many of you write interesting articles and even technical reports or scientific papers about climate change and/or climate policy. We often receive publications in our Clintel e-mail box with a request for comment. Unfortunately, the small Clintel team lacks capacity (and often also the deep knowledge) to give the professional feedback that the authors are looking for. Our Telegram channel gives you the opportunity to post your article there and specifically ask for feedback. This can lead to fruitful exchange of ideas or discussions on the channel itself. We hope that many of you will join our channel and interact with each other there.
We have also set up a second Clintel Telegram channel in which we will share new articles from the Clintel website and announce upcoming publications and events. That channel is less interactive.
If you haven’t heard of or used Telegram before, please read this short manual first. We are happy that Joakim Blomquist from Sweden offered his services to moderate the Clintel Telegram chat channel. If you have questions, you can e-mail him at rjblomquist62@gmail.com.

Robin Hood and Class War in London
|
Robin Hood fought the ruling class and its representative, the corrupt and tyrannical Sheriff of Nottingham. The common folk of London today seem to face a similar oppression, this time under an environmentalist sheriff (mayor). The contexts are vastly different but the fight against perceived injustices is universal, says economist Tilak Doshi.
The subject is Ulez (ultra-low emission zones). Doshi: "The UK papers carried stories recently about the punishing penalties that London’s drivers have paid under Mayor Sadiq Khan’s Ulez scheme. Under this scheme, a daily fee of £12.50 is charged on older petrol and diesel cars which enter Ulez. The GB News’ headline reads “Sadiq Khan’s Ulez sees motorists fork out millions in penalties despite pleas it’s ‘not about making money’.” A Freedom of Information request revealed that more than £70 million has been raised through Ulez penalties from drivers living in London."

There are many signs that the climate debate is entering its end game. Many countries ignore climate targets all together including the US now under Trump. However, the battle is not yet over. The EU especially is on the brink of economic collapse due to its extreme energy prices and the growing amount of 'climate' regulations. The media, many politicians, academia continue to promote the climate agenda, as that is their bread and butter.
So Clintel and other organisations around the world such as the GWPF, the CO2 Coalition, Heartland, CFACT etc. will have a huge fight ahead. Please consider to support us in this battle with a donation or by becoming Friend of Clintel. Thank you in advance for your support. Clintel is a 501(c)3 in the US.

Clintel is an Amsterdam (The Netherlands) based thinktank founded in 2019 by Dutch emeritus professor Guus Berkhout and science writer Marcel Crok. Clintel operates as a climate science and climate policy watchdog. In its first year it launched the World Climate Declaration, stating “there is no climate emergency”. That declaration is now signed by almost 2000 scientists and experts.
Clintel is independent from governments and industry. Our donors are private citizens and small companies around the world.
